Long Island Rain Arrives Late
With the next weather system now moving into the Ohio Valley, it doesn’t appear all that impressive. Some rain is in the forecast for Long Island late this afternoon and tonight but I think it is going to be of the on and off variety. Friday much of the time it won’t be raining however we will be sitting in lots of clouds with an onshore wind and some patchy drizzle or light rain into Friday evening.
Satellite and radar loops show a sweeping arm of rain coming up from the Southwest. Quite frankly this is not anything impressive and more of a nuisance than anything else. In the meantime look for clouds to continue to increase as we move through the rest of the day with temperatures holding pretty much in the 50s to around 60.

The onshore flow sets up for the next several days. This will keep us in clouds certainly through Friday with some on and off light rain or drizzle and temperatures in the 50s. There may be enough drying for Saturday to allow for some breaks of sunshine however the next weather system will be approaching faster and it looks like it will be raining everywhere by Sunday morning.

Still I would anticipate that Saturday will be rain free but not necessarily clouds free. Highs Saturday should average in the upper 50s to lower 60s in most places. Sunday will be raw and wet with highs not out of the 50s. Rainfall forecast over the next 2 days shows light rain and rainfall totals under a quarter of an inch through Friday night.
