Of the 2 weekend days Saturday proposes to be the best of the 2 days by far but Saturday will hinge on a brief relaxation in the onshore flow. Some sun should break through the clouds for a few hours. Late in the day more clouds will arrive and that sets us up for rain on Sunday.
Meanwhile tonight on the radar much of the rain from a weak disturbance is drying up before it gets to Long Island. Overnight we will just see cloudy skies with some spotty light rain or drizzle.
Friday we will see cloudy skies with spotty light rain or drizzle. Then late in the day into Friday night we should see another steady period of rain for a few hours. It should be done by very early Saturday morning. By daybreak clouds hopefully gives way to some sunshine for a few hours before it gets cloudy again late in the day. Highs will be in the 50s.
Sunday looks damp and dismal with rain into the late afternoon and highs just in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Rain could linger around Sunday night into Monday morning before weather conditions start to improve Monday afternoon.
