Long Island Record Highs Continue
Long Island record highs continue for the second day in a row. Admittedly the bar is rather low but we managed to do it today despite the south wind.

A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 76 DEGREES WAS SET AT ISLIP NY
TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 74 SET IN 2006.
The south wind kicked on on Long Island around late morning and since hitting the highs temperatures have actually been steady or they have dropped back. Nassau County highs north of the expressway made it to 80 or so while east end temperatures held in the low to mid 70s before dropping back into the upper 60s.
No weather issues tonight or Wednesday when we could see another high temperature record set. Overnight temperatures won’t drop much below the low to mid 60s so the launching pad is set.
Radars are not an issue through Wednesday night but will begin to get busy on Thursday as low pressure develops in the Ohio Valley and a warm front sets up to our south. This could produce some rain or showers with temperatures just in the 60s. Friday we could see more showers with a cold front and then we have to watch to see whether that rain gets enhanced by some tropical moisture. We are still watching broad low pressure east of the Bahamas that is getting better organized this afternoon. JOESTRADAMUS has more on this and how it might impact our weather on Friday.
