Long Island Snow Forecast Sunday Night
LONG ISLAND SNOW FORECAST SUNDAY EARLY CALL
This is my early call for Long Island snow accumulations for Sunday night. This is not looking like a big deal given the track of the storm. There may be enough cold air at the start for some snow. This should develop Sunday night after midnight. There might be a little bit of snow during the day Sunday but nothing that amounts to anything. If this storm system in the Ohio Valley tracks further northwest then there will be little or no snow at all.
Meanwhile colder air is arriving tonight and it will be with us through the weekend. Temperatures tonight will drop into the upper 20s and lower 30s on a gust west to northwest wind as skies clear out. Radars are showing lots of lake effect snow going on in upstate New York. A weak disturbance moving through Friday might produce a snow shower but other than that nothing is in the forecast precipitation wise into Sunday morning.
Tonight’s forecast lows will be in the mid 20s to around 30. There should be enough of a wind to keep temperatures relatively uniform.
Highs Friday will be in the upper 30s. Saturday look for sunshine but highs will just be in the mid 30s. Sunday we will be cloudy with intermittent light snow or flurries with highs in the 30s. The steady snow will come after midnight Sunday night.
