Long Island Snow Showers Cold Windy
Overnight snow showers over parts of Long Island left a solid coating of snow or a bit more in some places and apparently caused a bit of a rough start to the morning commute. The strong storm in Eastern Canada continues to churn away as snow showers come streaming off the Great Lakes. Some snow shower activity is still possible today along with lots of clouds and highs just in the 40s.

Gradually the low to the northeast will move away and we should start to see skies at least partially clear at some point later tonight with lows in the 20s to lower 30s. Tuesday looks like a dry day with sunshine and clouds. The gusty winds will also begin to drop off. Highs in the low to the mid 40s. Wednesday look for sunshine giving way to arriving clouds with highs in the 40s. There is an approaching weather system for Wednesday night and Thanksgiving day but it appears to be weak and other than a few showers later Wednesday night or on Thanksgiving day, it should not be a big deal though places north and west of Long Island might experience some icing issues Thursday morning when precipitation arrives. We will talk more about this later today.
