Long Island Weather Looks Good
The opportunity for picking up any substantial rainfall has passed and Long Island did not do well at all over the last 4 days. While areas to the west were deluged with up to 8 inches of rain, some spots on Long Island barely saw 8 drops. Other than a few isolated pockets of a quarter to a half an inch, the rainfall was a dud. Now we transition over to dry weather and sunshine over the next several days. The satellite loop shows dry air coming down from the northeast with an onshore flow.
This will keep temperatures in the 70s to lower 80s for Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we might inch up to 80 to 85 away from the shore. Sunshine should increase with each day.
With regards to the weekend Saturday we could see temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90. We will also see the next cold front approach and a chance for showers or thunderstorms at some point. Sunday looks good with sunshine and highs in the middle 80s.
