The last round of rain is moving through tonight across Long Island. So far the entire island has enjoyed the best end to end soaking rain probably this year. Many areas received 1.50 to 2.50 inches of rain yesterday and another quarter to a half inch today. The numbers below do not include rainfall from today.

The latest satellite loop shows clouds and moisture ahead of a cold front and that will push through overnight. Rains should be done before daybreak as the system begins to pull away to the east.
Weather conditions are set to improve on Thursday with partly sunny skies developing and highs in the 50s. Cooler air comes in Thursday night and it gradually cools off to near normal as we head into the weekend. No rain is in the forecast through the daytime Sunday however it could get active again next week with 2 opportunities for more rain on the weather maps. JOESTRADAMUS has more on his long range post.
