Long Island Weather Tuesday Falling Temps

More Rain Late Week
We are beginning to see the radars to the west showing some showers developing over Northwest Pennsylvania. That first area of showers will move through Long Island during the early morning hours Tuesday assuming they hold together. They should be done by 6 or 7 am from west to east and then we will start Tuesday morning with clouds and perhaps a few breaks of sun. The highs of the day will be reached in the morning Tuesday where some areas could reach the 60s. However the cold front to the north will push through around lunchtime and temperatures will begin to fall from east to west during the early to mid afternoon. By evening temperatures will be in the 40s everywhere.
Cold air from Canada is coming down. In fact it is so cold that parts of Central and Northern New England will see accumulating snow out of this. For us once the rain and any thunderstorm activity ends we will clear out Tuesday night and Wednesday looks sunny and chilly with highs just in the 50s. Rainfall amounts through Tuesday evening have been nudged up a little higher due to the showers coming in late tonight plus the rain that falls at some point on Tuesday.
Beyond Wednesday we have more rain coming on Thursday thanks to a blocking pattern in the atmosphere and JOESTRADAMUS has more on that.
