Look for thunderstorms to arrive in Nassau County around 6pm or so and in Suffolk County around 7pm. Here are the latest HRRR model views of the line of storms.

Notice that the line weakens as it moves east of New York City and strengthens in Southern New Jersey. Temperatures there are in the 80s while we are still sitting in the 60s to near 70.
