Rain Moving Back In Tonight Especially Suffolk County
FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED FOR NASSAU COUNTY
The first surge of rain has moved thorugh Long Island. Rainfall amounts ranged from about three quarters of an inch to an inch in Suffolk County but there was every bit of 1 to 2 inches in parts of Western Suffolk and Nassau County. Particularly near the Nassau Queens line torrential rains of 2 to 3 inches were coming from there west into New York City. However there is another surge of rain just off the coast on the radars that is heading northeastward. This will bring rain to Long Island particularly Suffolk County tonight in two surges.
The HRRR model shows the next round of rain coming in after 7pm and lasting until about midnight. There is still another push of showers possible for Suffolk County during the early morning hours. Nassau will see far less in the first surge this evening and may miss the second push of showers entirely.

For Saturday it will be clouds with a few scattered showers with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Sunday will be cool with clouds and the chance for a passing shower with highs just near 60 or so.
