Snow Forecast Long Island Friday 03102017
We have the possibility for some snow on Friday for Long Island. This is a minor system and I think there is the potential for 2 to 3 inches but a lot is going to depend on temperatures and time of day. If snow begins in the early morning morning before daybreak some of it will accumulate on roadways. But we are at the time of the year that snow sticking in the daytime is not easy thanks to an increasing sun angle. We will evaluate the situation over the next 2 days and adjust accumulations accordingly. This should not be a big deal. My forecast and the weather service forecast tonight matches up pretty well.
We expect snow to begin between 4am-7am Friday and it should be over by 1pm. Looking ahead to the weekend it is going to be another cold weekend with highs both Saturday and Sunday in the upper 20s and lower 30s but we will have a fair amount of sunshine this weekend. Another threat for snow or rain could come Tuesday of next week as we watch low pressure coming from the Ohio Valley and another low possibily moving up off the southeast coast.
