Winter Weather Advisory Long Island, Icy North Shore, More Wet South Shore
Winter Weather Advisories continue for Long Island this morning. The island is basically cut in half from east to west with mostly wet conditions along the immediate south shore but the north shore north of the Long Island Expressway is dealing with icy conditions thanks to freezing rain. Temperatures to the north are in a range of 30 to 32 while to the south temperatures are sitting between 33 and 35. We have another few hours of rain and freezing rain and it should be over by midday. Look for improving weather conditions during this afternoon with leftover clouds and temperatures in the 30s.

WEATHER RADAR
The last surge of rani is moving across Pennsylvania while the overnight precipitation is now moving into Southern New England. Low Pressure is moving into Southwestern NY and will soon redevelop to the southeast of Long Island and take all of this away to the east northeast.
Beware that temperatures will be headed to the teens to near 20 degrees by Saturday morning as skies clear out so some refreezing is likely particularly if we have little time to dry things out this afternoon. Bear that in mid if travelling. The weekend looks nice but cold for Saturday with sunshine. Highs will reach the low to mid 30s. Sunday we have a cold front coming down from upstate NY. Ahead of it we will have sun and arriving clouds with highs into the 40s. A rain shower is possible as the cold front passes and there could be some snow showers or a snow squally Sunday evening as the upper trough goes by. Next week starts dry and cold.
